MVD Pocket Neb (Model MVD-70) Troubleshooting Guide

The MVD Pocket Neb (Model MVD-70) is a handheld vibrating mesh nebulizer designed for convenient aerosol medication delivery. If you are experiencing any issues, follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve common problems.

1. Device Not Powering On

  • **Battery is not charged**
  • Ensure the device is plugged into the Micro USB charger cable (MVD-70-6) and AC wall adapter (MVD-70-7).
  • A blinking red light indicates charging, while a slow blinking green light means the battery is fully charged.
  • **Medication Cup is not properly attached**
  • Check that the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2) is securely connected to the Handset (MVD-70-1).
  • **Battery lifespan has ended**
  • If the device does not power on after charging, the battery may have reached the end of its lifespan. Contact MicroVapor Devices customer support at 1-844-563-8518.

2. No Aerosol Production

  • **No medication in the cup**
  • Ensure that the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2) contains medication (maximum 6 mL).
  • **Medication Cup is not securely attached**
  • Verify the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2) is properly connected to the Handset (MVD-70-1).
  • Ensure the Mouthpiece (MVD-70-4) or Mask Adapter (MVD-70-5) is correctly installed.
  • **Mesh Vapor Disk is clogged**
  • Clean by running a cleaning cycle:
  • 1. Fill the medication cup with distilled water.
  • 2. Run the device for 15 seconds to clear debris.
  • 3. Discard the water and air dry.
  • If the problem persists, replace the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2).

3. Reduced Nebulization Rate

  • **Low battery**
  • Recharge the battery fully before use.
  • **Medication level too low**
  • Ensure that there is enough medication in the cup.
  • **Mesh Vapor Disk requires cleaning or replacement**
  • Follow the cleaning instructions in Section 2.
  • If performance does not improve, replace the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2).

4. Device Shuts Off Unexpectedly

  • **Low battery**
  • Recharge the battery as indicated in Section 1.
  • **Overheating protection activated**
  • If the device runs for 20 minutes, it will automatically shut off. Allow it to cool before resuming use.
  • **Medication Cup is loose or damaged**
  • Ensure the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2) is securely attached.
  • If cracks are present, replace the cup.

5. Medication Cup Leakage

  • **Medication Cup is damaged**
  • Inspect the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2) for cracks or leaks. Replace if necessary.
  • **Medication Cup Cap is not properly closed**
  • Securely close the cap before use.

6. Battery Not Charging

  • **Faulty charger or cable**
  • Use only the Micro USB charger cable (MVD-70-6) and AC wall adapter (MVD-70-7).
  • **Device temperature too high**
  • Allow the unit to cool before attempting to charge again.
  • **Device not indicating charging**
  • Blinking red light = charging in progress.
  • Slow blinking green light = fully charged.
  • If no light appears, check the power source or replace the charger cable.

7. Indicator Light Meanings

  • Solid Green Light – Device is ON
  • No Light – Device is OFF
  • Solid Red Light – Low battery
  • Blinking Red Light – Battery charging
  • Slow Blinking Green Light – Battery fully charged
  • Blinking Green/Red Light – Medication Cup not attached properly

8. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • To maintain the MVD Pocket Neb, follow these steps after each use:
  • 1. Remove the Medication Cup (MVD-70-2) from the Handset (MVD-70-1).
  • 2. Discard any remaining medication in the cup.
  • 3. Fill the cup with distilled water and close the cap.
  • 4. Run the device for 15 seconds to clean the Mesh Vapor Disk (MVD-70-3).
  • 5. Discard the distilled water and air dry.
  • 6. Wipe the Handset with a damp cloth (DO NOT submerge in water).
