WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – In its continued effort to help the Midlands respond to COVID-19, Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation today donated more than 1,500 bottles of company-made hand sanitizer to Newberry College.
“Newberry College is an important part of the Midlands family,” said Nephron CEO Lou Kennedy. “They play a key role in preparing the next generation of leaders, and we are more than happy to help college officials get ready for the new semester. Staying safe during this pandemic means using hand sanitizer but also following social distancing protocols and wearing a mask.”
“As we all work together through unprecedented times, we can’t thank Nephron enough for their generous gift,” said Newberry College President Maurice Scherrens. “This contribution will go a long way toward helping us keep our students, faculty and staff safe and healthy as we return to campus this fall.”
“Nephron has been a trusted partner for Newberry College’s respiratory therapy program,” said Dr. Jerry Alewine, chair of the Newberry College Department of Respiratory Therapy. “With this gift, they support not only our safe return to campus in the fall, but also the next generation of front-line health care professionals.”
A West Columbia, S.C.-based company, Nephron develops and produces safe, affordable generic inhalation solutions and suspension products. The company also operates an industry-leading 503B Outsourcing Facility division which produces pre-filled sterile syringes and IV bags for hospitals across America, in an effort to alleviate their drug shortage needs. Nephron fills the needs of patients and health care professionals as they arise nationwide, and recently opened a CLIA-certified diagnostics lab.
