The Lexington County Blowfish announced on Friday that Lou Kennedy, president and owner of Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation, will be Grand Marshal of the 7th Annual Shamrock Parade March 12, downtown Lexington.
Kennedy is the perfect choice for the distinguished honor. Hailing from Lexington, she has been widely recognized for her business and leadership achievements. As a worldwide pandemic reached South Carolina, Governor Henry McMaster appointed her to the state’s coordinated COVID-19 advisory and recovery team. The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce celebrated Kennedy as its 2020 Business Leader of the Year. At the NAM Institute STEP Ahead Women’s event, she won Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Regional Award and an Outstanding Leadership Award from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
Kennedy has also received South Carolina’s highest civilian honor – the Order of the Palmetto from Governor Nikki Haley, recognizing a lifetime of outstanding service.
